PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal head capable of managing the straight path of a hard media card in an image printing device such as a card printer. SOLUTION: A printed circuit board 13 on which a driver IC 15 is placed is disposed so as to intersect with a mounting surface of a thin film chip 11 deposited with a heating element 12. The driver IC 15 and the thin film chip 11 are connected by wire bonding. A wire which joins the driver IC 15 and the heating element 12 is connected to the driver IC 15 and the heating element 12 on one face of the driver IC 15 facing in the same direction as the mounting surface of the printed circuit board 13 and on one face of the heating element 12 facing in the same direction as the mounting surface of the thin film chip 11.
