<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a software management device enabling a vehicle to make an evasive maneuver without providing a memory area for backup even when a vehicular software cannot be normally updated. Ž<P>SOLUTION: New first separation software is written over and memorized in a third memory area 123 wherein an old third separation software is memorized and which is different from a first memory area 121 wherein an old first separation software with primary importance to the traveling of a vehicle 10 is memorized. Therefore, without increasing a memory capacity at all, until the update of the new first separation software is completed, the old first separation software can be stored.
