The method involves measuring magnetic field with an annular coil (14), which is arranged concentrically towards a rotation axis of a radial roller bearing (12). Speed from an oscillation frequency of a measuring voltage is determined, where the measuring voltage is tapped by the annular coil. Position and/or speed of a cage (20) of the roller bearing is measured, where a middle radius (RM) of the annular coil corresponds to a roller body part circle radius (RP). A positioning unit is inserted into the cage, and position of the unit is measured for measuring position and/or speed of the cage. An independent claim is also included for a measuring device for measuring speed of a rolling body in a roller bearing comprising a bearing holder.
