The invention relates to a ball-hitting sole for a table tennis racket, including a flexible coating (118) made of an elastic material and having one surface (135) provided with elastically deformable lugs (120) projecting from said surface. The cross-sections of said lugs are larger in the areas (122) for the connection thereof to the coating than in the areas close to the opposite ends (124) thereof, and the side walls (125) of said lugs have concave curved profiles on at least a portion of the height of the lugs between said two areas. The sole can particularly be used in a table tennis racket in which the surface with the lugs (120) of said sole (112) is facing the inner side of the racket paddle (115) so that the free ends (124) of the lugs, which have side surfaces with concave curved profiles (125), are applied against a layer (126) of an elastic material connected to the paddle and having an elasticity modulus substantially lower than that of the elastic coating (118) of the sole. The smooth surface (115-1) of the sole opposite the lugs (120) defines the hitting surface of the racket.
