PURPOSE: A sealing device, a sealing method, and a method for manufacturing a flat display device using the same are provided to prevent the defective part from being sealed by checking whether to seal the part, thereby improve productivity. CONSTITUTION: A maintaining unit(112c) maintains a first substrate(G1) and a second substrate(G2) with a sealing unit(F) to be overlapped with each other. A radiating unit(115) emits a laser beam from a laser source to the sealing unit. A moving unit(110) changes the relative position of the radiating unit and the maintaining unit. A sealing application detecting unit(140) includes a position information detector(141) and a sealing application deciding unit(142). The position information detector detects the position information about the first and second substrates. The sealing application deciding unit calculates between the first substrate and the cross section of the sealing unit based on the detected position information and determines whether to seal based on the calculated result.
