PURPOSE: A restriction device for the front of a passenger is provided to remove a shaping sensor and reduce manufacturing costs by using a high-frequency sensor as a shaping sensor. CONSTITUTION: A restriction device for the front of a passenger comprises following steps. In a vehicle crash, a displacement value created by the movement of a passenger from the origin position to the front and a predicted displacement value are calculated based on the first acceleration of a vehicle(S10,S20). The first movement average value of the high frequency sensor is calculated based on the high frequency sensor signal, and the high frequency sensor is detected through the high frequency sensor(S30). The operation timing of the front passenger restraint apparatus is determined based on the first movement average value of the high frequency sensor.
