<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce vibrations and shocks of a vehicle due to torsional vibrations occurring in a driving system in accordance with the rotation of an internal combustion engine when the internal combustion engine is cranked to be started by an electric motor. <P>SOLUTION: A torque command Tm1* of the motor MG1 is set so that the engine is cranked until the completion of start processing after an engine starting is required, and the motor MG1 is controlled to output torque based on the torque command Tm1* before the completion of the start processing after the starting is required, while the engine is controlled so that fuel injection and ignition are started in predetermined timing.
