PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water treatment method in which the original water, which is generated from a process for producing a toner for developing an electrostatic charge image and contains a surfactant, is treated efficiently so that the amount of a flocculant to be used and the amount of the sludge to be generated are reduced. SOLUTION: The water treatment method comprises a step of treating the original water, which is generated from the process for producing the toner for developing the electrostatic charge image and contains the surfactant, by using ethylenediamine disuccinic acid.
