PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stator in which inter-phase insulation of a coil is ensured: a rotary electric machine which is easily assembled, and to provide methods of manufacturing the stator and the rotary electric machine. SOLUTION: The rotary electric machine includes: a stator core 175 formed by circularly arranging split stator cores 175 including a yoke 176 and stator teeth protruding from the peripheral surface of the yoke 176; a U-phase coil 181 centrally wound around the stator teeth; and an insulating member externally attached on the U-phase coil 181. The insulating member includes an end wall 202 provided on one of axial direction end surfaces of the U-phase coil 181 positioned on the center axis direction of the stator; a sidewall 203 provided continuously to the end wall 202 and arranged on one of side surface of the U-phase coil 181; and a sidewall 204 arranged on the other side surface.
