<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent useless power consumption of a digital broadcast receiver by powering off the digital broadcast receiver not only in the state where a program is not viewed on a video display although the program is broadcast on the video display, but also in the state where a user does not view the program or the state where a video image displayed on the video display is different from a video image output to the video display by the digital broadcast receiver. <P>SOLUTION: A digital broadcast receiver includes: a video output terminal for outputting a video signal to the video display; a video input terminal for inputting a video signal to be displayed on the video display; a waveform comparator circuit for comparing the video signal output from the video output terminal with the video signal input to the video input terminal; and a controller for powering off the digital broadcast receiver. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
