<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device retaining reliability for a long period of time by suppressing deterioration of a light emitting element due to moisture. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A sealing resin 13 is filled between a substrate 1 and a plate type sealing substrate 14 so as to cover the whole surface of a display region 10. A getter agent layer 21 is provided throughout the whole periphery so as to cover a boundary face between the substrate 1 and the sealing resin 13, a boundary face between the sealing resin 13 and the sealing substrate 14, and the exposed part of the sealing resin 13 on its periphery. The getter agent layer 21 is formed by using a material to catch at least either one of moisture and oxygen. A sealing layer 23 is also provided so as to cover the getter agent layer 21.
