PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability of electrical and mechanical connection between a heat generating heater and an intermediate shaft, to improve heat generation performance of the heat generating heater, and to prevent damage of the intermediate shaft or the heat generating heater accompanying concentration of stress without increasing manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: The glow plug 1 includes a cylindrical housing 2, the intermediate shaft 3, a connection member 6, a power supply member 7, and a ceramic heater 9. The connection member 6 includes: a first connection part 61 connected to the power supply member 7 and formed in an annular shape as a whole; a second connection part 62 connected to the intermediate shaft 3 and formed in an annular shape as a whole; and an elastic part 63 connecting the connection parts 61 and 62 and elastically deformable along an axis CL1 direction. When a resistance value of the connection member 6 is R<SB>C</SB>and a resistance value of the ceramic heater 9 is R<SB>H</SB>, the following relationship is satisfied; R<SB>C</SB>/R<SB>H</SB>≤0.1, and when a spring constant of the connection member 6 along the axis CL1 direction is K<SB>C</SB>, the following relationship is satisfied; 0.1 kN/mm≤K<SB>C</SB>≤10 kN/mm.
