PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drain pipe for a bridge pier, excelling in appearance without causing crack even when drainage is frozen in a drain pipe for the bridge pier used in a cold district. SOLUTION: The drain pipe 5 for the bridge pier is mounted along the bridge pier and includes a rear face part 51 provided in a position facing the bridge pier, and a front face part 52 of substantially circular arc shaped cross section with both sides connected to both ends of the rear face part 51. A flow passage is formed from a space partitioned by the rear face part 51 and front face part 52, and at least one of the rear face part 51 and front face part 52 on the flow passage side is provided with a water impermeable expansion absorbing material 54 in the partially exposed state of the rear face part 51 and front face part 52. Then, even if drainage is frozen and expanded inside the drain pipe 5 for the bridge pier, the expansion absorbing material 54 absorbs the expansion to prevent crack occurrence.
