<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image projection device such as HUD or HMD which achieves a screen and an image easy-to-view for a viewer by controlling operation of a scanning part and light quantity of laser beam, appropriately forming an image with the laser beam by an optical system which converts wavefront, and projecting the image. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the image projection device, a controller 17 allows the scanning part 14 to change a range of a scanning angle 14b of scanning light 14a according to a detection signal from a detection part 16, whereby the projection area of the screen 15a projected to a part to be projected 15 is changed, and a character or the image is projected to the part to be projected 15.
