<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability of a connection state between an intermediate shaft and a heat generating heater by simplifying the shape of components and structure. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The glow plug 1 includes: a cylindrical housing 2 having a shaft hole 21 extended to a shaft back CL1 direction; the cylindrical intermediate shaft 3; a ceramic heater 9; a power supply member 7 connected to the ceramic heater 9 and having a rear side cylindrical part 72 electrically connected to the intermediate shaft 3; an outer cylinder 8 for holding the ceramic heater 9; a pedestal 142 arranged in a distal end side compared to the intermediate shaft 3 and jointed and fixed to the housing 2; and a sensor element 161 arranged on the pedestal 142 and outputting a signal based on a pressure from the ceramic heater 9. The pedestal 142 includes a communication part 145 communicated from the distal end side to the rear end side, and the rear end of the power supply member 7 is extended to the rear end side of the pedestal 142 through the communication part 145.
