PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an accurately aligned sheet bundle even if curled paper and a sheet having no stiffness are pushed by a planar wall surface. SOLUTION: This sheet aligning device is provided for aligning the sheet Sn by moving the end (an edge surface (a)) of the carried-in sheet Sn by pushing the aligning surface 53z of a jogger 53b. The aligning surface 53z is formed in a plane shape, and the end surface (the edge surface (a)) of a curled part SC of the sheet SN abuts on the aligning surface 53z, and when the sheet Sn is pushed, the jogger 53b holds the end (the edge surface (a)) in a position abutting on the aligning surface 53z. This holding is maintained by a frictional force determined by an angle of the curled part SC of the sheet Sn and a friction coefficient of the aligning surface 53z. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
