The invention provides a method for modifying a resource by an authenticated user impersonating another user, comprising the steps of acquiring a lock on the resource to be modified, storing inside the lock object the identity of the authenticated user and the identity of the impersonated user, and generating a message indicating that said lock was acquired successfully by the authenticated user impersonating another user.
