Embodiments of the present invention disclose a method for service inter-working and session channel establishment, inter-working selection function module and device. The method for service inter-working includes: receiving the contents at least corresponding to two kinds of media types sent from the calling party; according to the media types of the contents, sending the contents to the inter-working function modules corresponding to the media types, so that the inter-working function modules send the received contents to a called party. By the embodiments of the present invention, on one hand, a Converged IP Message (CPM) service can have sessions with multiple non-CPM services, thereby improving user experience, on the other hand, when the calling party would like to change the media types between the calling party and the called party, wherein the called party has processed the service inter-working, it can be achieved just directly by the way of changing the media types without in advance disconnecting the session with the called party.
