<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of suppressing the enhancement shift of threshold voltage in a drive transistor. <P>SOLUTION: A sampling transistor Tr1 captures a signal potential Vsig according to a first control signal. Consequently, the drive transistor Trd is brought into a normal bias state during the light emission period of one field period, and a driving current according to a signal potential Vsig is supplied to a light-emitting element EL. The light-emitting element EL emits light in luminance corresponding to a signal potential Vsig by means of a driving current. The sampling transistor Tr1 is turned on according to a second control signal during the light non-emission period of the one field period, and a first reference potential Vref is captured. Consequently, the drive transistor Trd is brought into a reverse bias state. Further, before the sampling transistor Tr1 is turned off, a second reference potential Vofs switched from the first reference potential Vref is captured.
