PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake device adequately adaptable to both requirements for stratifying EGR gas in a combustion chamber and for uniforming the concentration of the EGR gas. SOLUTION: The intake device includes first and second intake ports 4, 5, and fuel injection valves 12, 13 provided therein, respectively. The first intake port 4 and the second intake port 5 are connected to a first collector 6 and to a second collector 7, respectively. On the upstream side of the collectors 6, 7, a combination part 22 is provided in communication with both collectors 6, 7. With the operation of a change-over valve 23 in the combination part 22, a connection relationship between both passages 8, 10 and both collectors 6, 7 is changed over between a combined condition where an intake passage 8 and an EGR gas recirculation passage 10 are connected via the combination part 22 to both collectors 6, 7, respectively, and a non-combined condition where the intake passage 8 and the recirculation passage 10 are connected independently to the first collector 6 and to the second collector 7, respectively.
