<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dot matrix type display panel, freely displaying in different display colors without limitations on a screen position. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A first display element (11-1) includes a combination of two kinds of display media: a first display medium having a first color and a first charging polarity and a second display medium having a second color and a second charging polarity, and is disposed between paired counter pixel electrodes. A second display element (11-2) includes a combination of two kinds of display media: the first display medium having the first color and the first charging polarity and a third display medium having a third color and the second charging polarity and is disposed between paired counter pixel electrodes. The one first display element (11-1) and the one second display element (11-2), the two display elements in total are taken as one display unit and disposed in a matrix. The voltage is applied to the paired counter pixel electrodes disposed in the respective display elements and the two kinds of display media enclosed in the respective display elements are reversed and moved to display an information image.
