<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an alkylbenzene comprising causing benzene to react with an olefin that has an excellent feature that it can suppress the loss of benzene as an effective ingredient. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of an alkylbenzene comprises at least a first step and a second step below, where a low-boiling fraction containing benzene obtained in the second step is used as a mixture with raw materials, for an aromatic hydrocarbon manufacturing plant, which separates and obtains respectively 6-8C aromatic hydrocarbons from a hydrocarbon mixture oil, thereby to make good use of benzene in the low-boiling fraction as a part of raw materials for the aromatic hydrocarbon manufacturing plant. The first step: a process for obtaining an alkylbenzene by causing benzene to react with an olefin in the presence of a liquid aluminum chloride complex catalyst or an acidic zeolite catalyst. The second step: a step of distilling the reaction liquid obtained in the first step to separate the low-boiling fraction containing benzene from the reaction liquid.
