The device has a cam lifter (9) and the individual sheet (4) in a conveying device (27) in a towing lifter transporting a sheet transport unit (19). A detection unit is provided for detection of an actual position of the sheet held by the cam lifter and the towing lifter. An adjusting device is assigned to the towing lifter for realization of a reference-position of the transported sheet.
