An apparatus for deseeding a fruit has a pair of elongate counter-rotatable rollers (7a, 7b) in a substantially parallel arrangement. The rollers define a flesh removal zone (9a) in which there is at least one separation (23) between surfaces of the rollers and a seed removal zone (9b). At least one of the rollers has a seed mover (21) configured to move seed(s) from the flesh removal zone to the seed removal zone. The rollers are spaced and configured so that in use, counter-rotation of the rollers causes a major part of the flesh of the fruit to be separated from the seed(s) of the fruit and ejected through the flesh removal zone, and the seed(s) to be moved by the seed mover to the seed removal zone. |
