A NOVEL STAINING METHOD FOR FATTY ACID IN MICROORGANISM

PURPOSE: A method for dyeing fatty acid in a microorganism using oil O red solution is provided to observe and analyze accumulation and metabolism of fat in the microorganism in a short time without grinding and deformation of cells. CONSTITUTION: A method for dyeing fat in a microorganism comprises: a step of fixing microorganism with cell fixation solution; a step of removing the cell fixation solution; and a step of drying the microorganism with oil O red solution. Another method for dyeing fat in the microorganism comprises: a step of treating the microorganism with cell fixation solution; and a step of treating with oil O red solution without a process of removing cell fixation solution. The microorganism is fungi or yeast.
