FRINGE-FIELD SWITCHING LIQUID CRYSTAL DEVICE USING CHOLESTERIC BLUE PHASE LIQUID CRYSTAL
摘要
PURPOSE: A fringe field switching liquid crystal device using a cholesteric blue phase liquid crystal is provided to increase an intensity contrast ratio value in both the front of a fringe field switching liquid crystal device and a viewing angle direction. CONSTITUTION: A transparent common electrode(1) is formed in a slit form on a lower substrate. Pixel electrodes(2) of a slit type are formed with an insulating layer between the pixel electrodes. The electrode widths of the pixel electrode and the common electrode are wider than the distance between electrodes. A voltage is applied through a thin film transistor connected to the pixel electrode to form a fringe field electric field between a patterned common electrode and a patterned pixel electrode.
