<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silicon carbide porous body manufactured more easily than a conventional one and a method of manufacturing the silicon carbide porous body manufactured more easily than the conventional one. <P>SOLUTION: The silicon carbide porous body is formed by using aqueous slurry containing silicon carbide powder and carbon powder to produce an intermediate porous body containing the silicon carbide powder and the carbon powder, drying the intermediate porous body and impregnating the dried intermediate porous body with silicon using silicon vapor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
