PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a screw shaft, capable of manufacturing the screw shaft of which the phase of a thread groove in each of right and left screw parts, and a reference position of an end part of each screw part are set highly precisely. SOLUTION: Reference end face positions of a specified length from an intersection 15 of right and left screws on the reference face h3 are set in both the ends, in the screw shaft 7 phase-adjusted based on the reference face h3 formed preliminarily in a raw material shaft when attached to a rolling panel, and formed individually with the right and left screw parts 3, 5 by in-feed rolling, and both end faces of screw shaft 7 are finished by an end face grinding stone, to make the reference end face positions serve as the end parts of the respective screw parts on the screw shaft 7.
