<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition control device for an engine capable of more precisely performing plasma jet ignition control, and capable of adequately enhancing combustion stability, durability, fuel consumption, and so forth. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An ignition control device for an engine is provided with a plasma jet ignition device as a fuel/air mixture ignition means, and sensors 21 and 22 for detecting combustion stability of respective cylinders, calculates combustion stability factor for respective cylinders based on signals obtained from the sensors 21 and 22 during the plasma jet ignition control, and performs control to increase or decrease the number of ignition times per one combustion cycle by the plasma jet ignition device for respective cylinders, and/or ignition output energy of at least one time, based on the combustion stability factor.
