<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a shelf board support mechanism preventing a shelf board from getting unstable when completely inserted, fitted and fixed to a shelf board support member, with a force from the lower part being applied to the shelf board as well as with a force from an upper part being applied to the shelf board, and allowing the shelf board to be smoothly inserted or removed when inserting or removing the shelf board. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The shelf board support mechanism includes tapered elastic body packing covering the upper face and lower face of the rear end of the shelf board, step portions formed on a lower part support plate of the shelf board support member and on the lower face of the elastic body packing, and clearances each formed between both step portions and between the lower face rear part of the elastic body packing and the lower part support board.
