<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To create an image in the front view of the side wall of the lumens from the distal end of an optical scanning endoscope. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An optical scanning endoscope processor includes a light source unit, an actuator actuation circuit, a photodetection unit 23, and an image signal processing section. White light is radiated to an optical fiber for illumination from the light source unit. The actuator actuation circuit is made to actuate an actuator. The actuator is inclined so as to radiate the white light along a spiral scanning path to the optical fiber for illumination. The photodetection unit 23 forms a pixel signal according to the reflection of the white light. The image signal processing section 30 has a buffer memory 32 and a side surface image memory 35. The formed pixel signal is stored in the buffer memory 32.
