<p>An industrial robot with a manipulator arm (2) comprises at least one manipulator element (3) and an electric motor driving the same. The industrial robot is characterized in an energy reservoir (6) that supplies the electric motor with electricity when a power failure or power loss occurs to move the manipulator element (3) from a working position to a safe parking position. The aim of the invention is to prevent accidents due to uncontrolled manipulator arms swinging in case of power failures or losses. The invention also relates to a method of parking a manipulator arm of an industrial robot.</p>
