The tire pressure control system (1) has a tire pressure sensor (20), a tire valve, a pressure distributor (5) with control valves, a control and regulating device (10), a high pressure compressor and a tire pressure control valve (21). The high pressure compressor has an electric drive (14) with a solenoid. The electric drive drives a tandem piston and the solenoid is arranged between two individual pistons of the tandem piston. An independent claim is also included for a method for tire pressure regulation.
