The automatic transmission (2) has pneumatic components (4, 6) supplied with dry compressed air from a compressor (8) that is arranged outside the transmission. A supply mechanism supplies lubricating oil into a compressed air supply line (12), and is present behind an air dryer/air filter (10) that is connected downstream to the compressor. An oil separator (18) is arranged in an exhaust pipe (16) and connected with the transmission over an oil return line (20) to supply the compressed air to an oil sump (14) over the return line.
