PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording reproducing device which can readily execute operation for capturing and recording a plurality of still images continuously from reproduced image data. SOLUTION: The device has: a reproducing part for reproducing a moving image from a record medium; an operation key for instructing record of a still image; a record part for generating and recording still image data from the moving image reproduced by the reproducing part, according to an instruction from the operation key; and a control part which executes frame advance one by one until instruction from the operation key is canceled and controls it to continuously record still image data relating to a plurality of still images obtained by frame advance reproduction.
