<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous membrane having pores of several hundreds nm, and a desired functional polymer present on the inner wall surface of the pores, and to provide a method for production by which the porous membrane can simply be prepared in a large area. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The porous membrane includes a continuous phase comprising a water-insoluble polymer A as a principal component; and a micro-phase separation structure comprising a water-soluble polymer B incompatible with the water-insoluble polymer A as a principal component, and comprising a spherical micro-domain distributing in the continuous phase.
