<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an embroidery data providing system capable of providing embroidery data for appropriately embroidery-sewing in a sewing machine. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the embroidery data providing system S, a PC (Personal Computer) 1 and a server 5 are connected via the Internet 7. When a piece of authentication information dedicated to a user is input through the PC 1, the server 5 obtains a frame size showing a size of an embroidery pattern the sewing machine 3 in a user's side is able to embroider. When an embroidery pattern is compiled inside a sewing area frame of a compiling image by the PC 1, the server 5 generates the embroidery data for embroidery-sewing the embroidery pattern to send them to the PC 1. On the other hand, when the embroidery pattern is compiled over a range of the sewing area frame of the compiling image by the PC 1, the server 5 limits download of the embroidery data, sending error information to the PC 1.
