PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which can efficiently prevent rear leakage without damaging a feeling of wearing, and its efficient manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The absorbent article 1 has an obverse sheet 12 arranged on the side P abutting against the skin and a reverse sheet 13 arranged on the side not abutting against the skin and an absorber 14 arranged between the sheets 12 and 13. The article has an excretion portion facing portion 1B arranged oppositely to the liquid excretion portion of a wearer and a rear portion 1C arranged nearer to the back side than to the excretion portion facing portion 1B during wearing. In the absorber 14 in the rear portion 1C, a plurality of high-density portions 15, 15, ... and low-density portions 16 located between adjacent high-density portions are formed extendedly in the width direction Y of the absorbent article 1.
