<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus for achieving the high speed duplication processing of data by always generating the maximum through-put regardless of different operation environments or the characteristic factors of data to be duplicated. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In this information processing apparatus (host computer 100), a control part 106 determines program region sizes showing different operation environments and block sizes showing the characteristic factors of data to be duplicated by referring to program region information 103 when performing the duplication processing of data by executing a copy program 105 following an operation system OS, and a buffer assignment processing part 107 assigns the proper number of buffer regions calculated according to the judgement result to a buffer region 117 formed in a program execution region 104, and a data input/output processing part 108 controls the input/output of the data for the assigned number of buffer regions in a batch.
