PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an original cover plate opening/closing device using a one-leg type mounting member, which prevents an original cover plate from being opened together with a housing when opening the housing, and further prevents the mounting member from falling off. SOLUTION: The original cover plate opening/closing device comprises: a leg which is mounted to be movable in an up-and-down direction in a mounting hole provided on a side of the housing mounted to be openable/closable in the up-and-down direction to the body of office equipment; a case-like supporting member which is mounted to be turnable to an upper side of the leg through a hinge pin and supports the original cover plate to be openable/closable; an elastic means which is provided between the supporting member and the leg; a cam mechanism which is provided between the leg and the supporting member in order to control turning of the supporting member; and a turning prevention means which is provided between the leg part and the supporting member and automatically prevents turning of the supporting member toward the opening operation of the original cover plate when the housing is opened.
