The valve device (13) has a housing, which encloses a channel section flow throughable from gas flow (14) transverse to a mainstream direction. A flap (15) is pivoted in the channel section around a rotational axis runs transverse to the mainstream direction. A flap drive is provided for rotary driving the flap. A frame drive is provided for rotary adjustment of a rotary frame. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an internal-combustion engine system for a motor vehicle; and (2) a method for operating a valve device.
