<p>Disclosed is an electrophotographic photosensitive body, which is free from image defects such as background fogging or black spots on the white background by having good coating liquid stability and good metal oxide dispersion, and has good image characteristics in any environment. Also disclosed are a method for producing the electrophotographic photosensitive body, and an electrophotographic apparatus provided with the electrophotographic photosensitive body. Specifically disclosed is an electrophotographic photosensitive body (7), wherein an underlying layer (2) and a photosensitive layer (3) are sequentially arranged on a conductive base (1). The underlying layer (2) contains, as a main component, a resin which is obtained by polymerization using an aromatic dicarboxylic acid, one or more aliphatic dicarboxylic acids having 8 or more carbon atoms, and one or more diamines having a cycloalkane structure as starting materials, and additionally contains a metal oxide. The aromatic dicarboxylic acid is contained in the resin in an amount of 0.1-10 mol%, and both the acid number and the base number of the resin are 10 KOHmg/g or less. Also specifically disclosed are a method for producing the electrophotographic photosensitive body (7), and an electrophotographic apparatus provided with the electrophotographic photosensitive body (7).</p> |
