A carton or partially formed flat-form carton, and blank and method for making the same having a reinforced carrying handle. The carton and/or partially formed flat-form carton comprising a series of carton walls including a composite end wall hinged to a top wall. The composite end wall comprising a top end closure panel (324a) having a first hand gripping means and a first handle reinforcing panel having a second hand gripping means disposed for alignment with said first hand gripping means. The first handle reinforcing panel is hinged to the top end closure panel by a fold line disposed opposite to and angled acutely to the hinged connection between the top end closure panel and the top wall.
