发明名称 Improvements in railway freight car construction
摘要
854,496. Vehicle doors. RHEINSTAHL SIEGENER EISENBAHNBEDARF A.G. Oct. 1, 1958 [Oct. 2, 1957; July 21, 1958], No. 31387/58. Addition to 831,355. Class 103(4). In a railway freight car according to the parent Specification upper girders 20, Fig. 12, of sliding door panels 19, 19a have front and rear rollers 47, 48 secured thereto which run on a single supporting rail 26 secured to the car frame. The actuating mechanism of each panel comprises a rotatable opening shaft 28 to which is secured a ball socket 63, Fig. 3, which receives towards the end of the closing movement a substantially spherical supporting roller 71 on an arm 69 at the bottom end of the front edge of each door panel, so that the panel is thereby guided in an arcuate path. 95, 'Fig. 4, into the closed position off the rail 26. Each socket 63 comprises a cupshaped recess 66 and in alignment therewith is a part-cylindrical recess 65 of lesser depth and having a guide strip 67 which engages in a channel-shaped recess 72 of the supporting roller 71. The bottom edges of the panels 19, 19a are constructed as strips 73 beneath girders 21 of the panels and in the closed position are in alignment with a guide strip 75 on the centre post 5 of the car frame. Hand-operated opening levers 79, Fig. 9, on the shafts 28 each includes a pivot 77 about which the lever is adapted to swivel vertically and each lever carries a projection 80 formed with an opening 81 through which a padlock can be secured. The panels have handles 82 secured on the girders 21 which support latch plates 83 having openings into which the projections 80 can be guided in the closed position. Transverse plates 85, connected to the panels, carry at their upper ends safety latches 87 which pivot at 86 to prevent unintentional opening of the lever 79. The single rail 26 is horizontally bent at both ends 52 of the car and has recesses 114, 115 at the point at which the front guide rollers 47 may be detached from the rail 26 when the panel is closed, the height of these recesses being such as to permit the introduction of the rollers 47 when one of the panels is to be opened. The panels are secured against running laterally off the rails by bearing blocks 103, Fig. 15, which have external and internal webs 104, 105 on both sides of the guide rollers. An extension 111, Fig. 13, of a guide clamp 110 on the upper end of each shaft 28 bears against a flange on the front edge of each panel or on a stop 112 thereon when the panels are closed to prevent inward deflection of the rollers. The rear rollers 48 are secured against derailment at the recesses 114, 115 and also enabled to pass the guide clamps 110 by spacing members 109 on horizontal projections 106 of the bearing blocks 103, since the distance of each member 109 from the bottom edge 118 of the rail 26 is made smaller than the distance between the roller 48 and the lower projecting end 116 of the web 104 even when this latter distance is reduced by the depth of the recess 114.
