The present invention relates to in vitro methods and compositions for diagnosing, preventing and/or treating an adenocarcinoma associated with a chromosomal aberration on chromosome 20q and/or the predisposition for developing such an adenocarcinoma by determining the expression levels of a set of particular marker genes, wherein an elevated expression level of said marker genes in target cells as compared to control cells is indicative of such an adenocarcinoma and by specifically modifying the gene expression of said marker genes in such way that the elevated expression level(s) identified in the target cells are down-regulated. |
