Method for laying a paving surface

The method involves measuring a height difference perpendicular to a planum (P) between a fixed measuring location at a base screed (G) and a location along a reference line (L) fixed at an extension screed (A). The height difference is stored as a target value. Deviation of the height difference from the target value caused by variation is measured. The deviating height difference is corrected to the target value by an automatic height adaptation of a sole plate (7) of a laterally inclined extension screed by actuating height adjustment assemblies (22) corresponding to the measured deviation.
