A parallel flow regenerative kiln comprising: a first and a second upper shaft; a first and a second lower shaft; said upper shafts being connected respectively to said lower shafts; said upper shafts each having a lower ring and said lower shafts each having an upper ring; characterised in that said lower ring and said upper ring are connected together by a substantially horizontal structure, the gases generated by combustion passing from said first shafts to said second shafts through a circular crown formed within the area in which said lower ring joins said upper ring and defined by the rest angle of the material introduced.
