Method for multi-step punching

The tool set has a punching tool (55) including a tool upper part (7) with a cavity shape and a tool lower part (5) with a shape of a cutter (27). Another punching tool has a tool upper part with a shape of another cutter (33) and the tool lower part with a cavity shape. The cutters are provided with respective cutter edges (28, 34), where a contour of one of the cutter edges is same as a contour of another cutter edge. The cutters have a length longer than a depth of a metal sheet to be punched. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a punching machine including a control device (2) a method for two-step punching of a metal sheet (3) a method for three-step punching of the metal sheet.
