Load distribution in an inverter in order to reduce its loading

The controlling method involves operating an inverter in one of a drive switching condition and determining a load of a branch or a flow control valve of the inverter. A free-wheel condition is selected from two possible free-wheel conditions of the inverter with consideration of the determined load. The inverter is operated in the selected free-wheel condition. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a controlling method for an inverter; and (2) an inverter.
