PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new fluorescent cyclodextrin modified with a chiral residue capable of recognizing and resolving the R-isomer and S-isomer of optical isomers by the fluorescent light, provide a cyclodextrin modified with a chiral residue, having remarkable recognition power and resolution power of chiral molecule and applicable to a wide variety of guests and provide a practically durable economical compound as the material to form the modifying residue. SOLUTION: The objective cyclodextrin modified with a chiral residue and capable of recognizing and resolving the R-isomer and S-isomer of optically active isomers is produced by modifyingα,βorγ-cyclodextrin with a fluorescent chiral residue. Concretely, the compound is a cyclodextrin modified with an R- and S-3-hydroxy-3-substituted propanoic acid ester or amide and expressed by formula (I) (R1 is a 2-hydroxy-2-substituted ethylcarbonyl; M is NH, O or S; W, X, Y and Z are each an integer of 0-7; W+X+Y+Z is an integer of 6-8). |
